Our Facility

There was a time when a funeral home was just that, someone’s home that was used for funeral services; a home where the owner opened his doors to his neighbors, cared for those that had died, and served those that survived. Friends called and services were held. That tradition of old continues today at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home.

Although the building is not the only thing that makes a funeral home, we are pleased of the facility we have to offer our neighbors. When John House’s Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home first opened and a service was to be held here, it was necessary to move all of the furniture out of our receiving area and set up folding chairs to create a chapel space. Afterwards, that processed had to be reversed.

As the years have gone by, more and more local families have chosen to trust the care of their cherished family members to their local, community funeral home rather than to travel out of town and use the services of funeral homes owned by out of state conglomerates.

This increase in trust and friendship has allowed us to refurbish and refurnish our existing building, maintain a beautiful home atmosphere, and has allowed us the addition of a spacious and well appointed funeral chapel, making our facility as nice as any you will find serving a community of our size.
